With the the world economy development, the global middle-class population will increase significantly. By 2025, the amount of global urban waste will rise from the current 1.3 billion tons per year to 2.2 billion tons. By then, China’s annual urban waste production will be close to 600 million tons. Faced with such a trend, waste incineration power generation is a process that must be adopted for environmental protection.

South Cement Group has also made long-term effective applications in waste incineration power generation.

Waste incineration power generation conforms to the three principles of "detoxification, reduction, and resource utilization":

(1) Reduction: After incineration, the general volume can be reduced by more than 90%, and the weight can be reduced by more than 80%. Landfilling after garbage incineration can effectively reduce the occupation of land resources.

(2) Detoxification: After high temperature incineration, a large number of harmful bacteria and toxic substances in the garbage can be eliminated, and secondary pollution can be effectively controlled.

(3) Resource utilization: The thermal energy generated after the incineration of waste can be used for power generation and heating to achieve comprehensive utilization of resources. Power generation from garbage can not only turn waste into treasure, generate electricity, but also save coal resources.

Internationally, it is generally believed that the average low calorific value of garbage can reach 3000 kcal/kg, and the calorific value of standard coal is 7000 kcal/kg. Burning about 2.3 tons of garbage can save 1 ton of coal. China’s urban waste is mainly domestic garbage with a large water content and a calorific value of only 1000 kcal/kg. However, even so, 7 tons of garbage can save 1 ton of coal. If half of the city garbage is used for incineration, It can save more than 20 million tons of coal.
