Environment > Reducion of CO2 Emission Concentration

Chinese cement’s environmental protection indicators are significantly ahead of the world’s cement industry. Taking dust emissions for example, European countries have generally set the standard at 20-30mg/m3, while China requires no higher than 10mg/m3, and for NOx emissions, the EU standard is 200-450mg/m3, while China requires control below 100 mg/m3. Another example is the emission of sulfur dioxide. Europe and the United States have a standard of 100-200 mg/m3, while China has already been trying 50 mg/m3.

Following the signing of the "Kyoto Agreement" and "Paris Agreement", as the world’s second largest economy that takes the lead in the management of global air pollution, China has made great strides on the road to energy saving and emission reduction. As a major carbon emitter, South Cement Group takes energy saving and emission reduction as the top priority: Some cement plants under the Group have achieved significant energy saving and emission reduction effects through innovative low-temperature waste heat power generation and other international leading innovative technologies, effectively reducing carbon dioxide emissions. At present, the carbon emissions of South Cement Group is about 25% lower than that of developed countries.

What’ s more interesting is that while exporting cement, South Cement has also achieved the "exportation of carbon emission quota". At a price of about 10 euros per ton, the remaining carbon dioxide emission quota of some of its factories is exported through the international carbon trading market to some European cement companies that failed to meet the carbon emissions standards and should have been fined heavily.
